For me, I don’t think Thranduil got to find or even say goodbye to Oropher. But this is a nice rendering for the optimistic.

Imagine that. Uinen subdued Ossë at Aulë’s behest before they became spouses. I suspect she could curb Ossë’s violent tendencies and bring him to heel because her own greater capacity for violence (which she utilised to great effect subduing him) gave him pause. It’s just that she keeps it under control that much better than him. But he knows if ever she rose in wrath, there is nowhere to hide, because even Ulmo knew to give her due respect. Best not to give her any reason to get riled up in the first place!

Bear with the incongruity of Éowyn quotes and this image evoking a bedecked daughter of Woodmen.
Gollum’s adventures after the Battle of Five Armies may just be a side-effect in the moment, but coupled with the fading of good-will euphoria from the Battle, and the gradual return to darkness, I imagine the Woodmen of Mirkwood would start stepping up on militarising. Perhaps they even retained the Wood-elves as consultants during the initial setup. And as a result, being a woman of the dark dangerous times, a daughter of the Woodmen could hold her own, just like Éowyn would. Equality ftw.
If some Hunt for Gollum movie happens, and it involves a daughter of the Woodmen, you saw it here first.
Maybe it’s the recent overdose on those things, but without taking anything away from this beautiful art that inspired the musing, I’ll leave it at this, having little interest and entirely too much of movie-makers’ uninspiring tropes that tend to characterise their OCs and the canon warping in their stead.
